Florida Panthers Official Practice Facility Renamed Florida Panthers IceDen

Facility will incorporate complete “Pantherizing” of rinks including player photos and more.

SUNRISE, FL – Sunrise Sports & Entertainment announced today that the Saveology.com Iceplex, the official practice facility of the Florida Panthers in Coral Springs, has been renamed the Florida Panthers IceDen, effective immediately.

“We are thrilled to rename our official practice facility in Coral Springs as the Florida Panthers IceDen,” said SSE President & CEO Michael R. Yormark. “The rechristening of the Iceplex as the IceDen will further enable us to expand awareness of the Panthers brand in South Florida and help grow the sport at both the youth and adult levels.”

“The Panthers IceDen will continue to be one of the most active facilities in the Southeast, with events ranging from national youth hockey tournaments, to international figure skating competitions and our curling program,” said Vice President and Panthers IceDen General Manager Jeff Campol. “The Panthers IceDen will also continue to serve as the primary practice facility of the Florida Panthers, welcoming legions of fans to the team’s open practices, development, rookie and training camps, and youth hockey schools.”

The new Panthers IceDen will feature photos of players including current Panthers Young Guns Jonathan Huberdeau, Erik Gudbranson, Aleksander Barkov and Nick Bjugstad, together with other imagery that will usher in a complete “Pantherizing” of the facility.

“Changing the name of the facility to the Panthers IceDen will create excitement in the community and puts Coral Springs on the map as the Florida Panthers' official practice facility,” said Coral Springs Mayor Vince Boccard. "The awareness it brings to the community, creates a positive economic impact for our thriving city."

“The Panthers IceDen is one of the top recreational skating facilities in the country, and we’re thrilled to have them at the Sportsplex,” said Coral Springs Sports Commission and Executive Director of Sportsplex Tom Messenheimer.

The Panthers IceDen will hold a number of events during the 2014 Olympic break, including Sochi Watch Parties at the Breakaway Bar & Grill beginning at 7am on Saturday, Feb. 15 when the USA battles Russia and Sunday, Feb. 16 when the USA takes on Slovenia. The Junior Panthers President’s Day Tournament will take place from Friday, Feb. 14 through Monday, Feb. 17 and two Learn To Curl sessions will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 12 and Wednesday Feb. 19.
